How Globekey handles credit card details...
Our 'standard' system, included in our Globekey prices, works as follows:
- When confirming a reservation, guests enter credit card details onto our Globekey secure server.
- After confirmation, an email is auto-sent to your property inviting you to retrieve and print credit card details from our secure server, using your password-protected links.
You then have the choice of:
- either (a) holding credit card details on file for use in the event of cancellation/no show;
- or (b) clearing a credit card deposit 'manually' through your merchant account provider;
- or (c) obtaining an authorisation code for a credit card payment, from your merchant account provider, without actually clearing it into your account (note that this last option is not possible in all countries).
More than 3,500 properties in 60 countries can be booked using our reservations software
You can state your booking conditions clearly in your Cancellation Policy which guests view whilst confirming reservations on Globekey.
For security reasons and in line with credit card company recommendations, credit card details are only stored on our secure server for a maximum of 7 days.
For an additional fee, we can link our software into your chosen payment gateway (e.g. YourPay, Authorize.net, Protx, PayPal, or a local bank's own credit card clearing system). This would allow guest payments to be cleared in real-time, directly into your credit card or bank account. We charge a one-time fee of US$250 to connect to a payment gateway with which we have previously interfaced. If you choose a payment gateway which we have not worked with before, our fee will be FROM US$1,000.
The best type of payment gateway is a fully integrated online payment processing solution. This allows our Globekey.com secure server to communicate silently (or transparently) with the transaction processing engine. In some countries, this type of 'direct' payment gateway is referred to as an Application Program Interface (API) or an Advanced Integration Method. These are commonly used for shopping cart type transactions. Please contact us for more details.
